Recycling & Waste

At OGGS we recycle and reuse as many resources as possible. We have regular collections of metal, glass, paper, cardboard, cooking oil and plastics for recycling. Hazardous waste, batteries and light bulbs are collected and disposed of safely. We are working towards using less resources, such as paper, by all photocopiers being replaced with newer models offering a scanning facility and the default setting as double sided copy.

Written communications and brochures are sent electronically rather than in hard copy wherever possible. For 2011 we printed 50% less brochures than during 2010. 

All commercial waste that cannot be recycled is taken to the energy recovery unit in south London http://www.selchp.com so nothing produced at OGGS reaches landfill sites.
