Located on the lower ground floor of this exceptional Westminster event venue is our second purpose-built, tiered lecture theatre, the Godfrey Mitchell Theatre.
The theatre is fully equipped with state-of-the art presentation technology. There is fixed raked seating for up to 106 people including fully-accessible facilities and a front and rear entrance.
At the front is a speaker’s lectern and top table for up to five people; each with fixed microphones. These pieces of furniture can be removed if the occasion demands a different set up. The space is very minimalist and modern in style with soft blue and white; additional lighting can be incorporated to create a theme to your event.
The Godfrey Mitchell Theatre is ideal for small conferences, presentations, lectures, seminars, product launches, press conferences and AGM's. The theatre is located adjacent to the Palmer and Rennie rooms, suitable for supporting meetings and green rooms, as well as close to seven different syndicate meeting rooms providing further break-out space.
This and our larger Telford Theatre have the capability to be linked up internally which will allow for an in-house conference capacity of over 340 people.
Godfrey Mitchell was a renowned engineer who served during the First World War. On his return to the UK he became a reputed construction engineer and entrepreneur. The theatre itself is one of the more recent additions to the building, constructed during the 1990's as a desirable additional lecture theatre which has now become a significant function space in its own right.
Whilst housing the London Media Centre for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games the theatre held a number of press conferences including a surprise live music performance by the Magic Numbers.
