The Library, located on the first floor of this Westminster venue, is Grade II listed and offers an unforgettable events space for up to 200 people for a reception or up to 350 including the Rotunda.
The Institution’s library at One Great George Street is one of the finest collections in the world, with over 130,000 titles dating back to the 15th century. The library’s rich history began in 1893 when the architect Charles Barry jnr. submitted ambitious plans of a library running the 86ft length of 24-26 Great George Street. The magnificent panelling and furniture was supplied by Gillows, and this was later transferred to the present library at One Great George Street.
This Grade II listed library with original wood panelling, high ceilings and natural daylight is located on the first floor alongside the Great Hall, Telford Theatre and Rotunda, and provides a flexible space when used in isolation or in conjunction with these spaces.
